Official Synopsis: When people drive and play this hard and fast, three interconnected couples discover that love comes with a risk.

After Cece finds her Formula 1 driver husband, Ethan, cheating, she turns to his alpha racing rival, Luca, for an intimate kind of solace. It’s exactly what she needs. But Ethan isn’t letting her go. And what happens between the three of them is scandalous enough to set the track on fire.

Micaela is the only female driver with a spot on the grid. One She has it bad for the team principal—who happens to be her ex’s dad. He’s older, powerful, sexy, and definitely off limits. But Micaela isn’t the kind of woman to step away from a challenge. In fact, she craves it.

Press officer Paola’s biggest problem is softening the image of Brent, a spoiled playboy driver who’s full of swagger, attitude, and an irresistible hate-to-love-him appeal. It’s Paola’s job to keep him in line, even if she has to bribe him with kisses to do it.

Strap yourself in. The stakes are high and the heat is scalding.

I'm going to start this review out by simply saying, THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR KIDS/YOUNG TEENS. When I say this book is 'adult' I really mean it. So if you are looking for something that isn't full of spicy/open door romance scenes, you may want to check out other reviews on the blog!

Alright, now let's get into it. Faster starts out by showing us Cece, who just caught her very famous husband cheating on her while he is high. When Cece finds comfort in their former best friend, Luca, they end up hooking up and now both feel like they are hiding something from her husband, Ethan. Now, Luca and Ethan have ended up on the same racing team, and Cece is trying to avoid them together at all costs. But that cost might be her own, and their, happiness. When they call finally have a conversation and explain their past and current feelings, they realize that maybe there is a way they can all be together, even if the world isn't ready for it's top 2 drivers to be involved. This plot line was one of my favorites of the book, the way they are all just love-blind idiots before realizing they can make it work. It also was a 'true' love triangle, but having them all be in love with each other. I also liked the way this plot line played out and how it leaves you with a happy ever after feeling.

Then there is Micaela, who is the first female driver for an American team. She used to date her teammate, but she has no interest in him now. Instead she finds herself developing feelings for his father, the owner of the team. Liam knows he shouldn't have feelings for Micaela and that hooking up with one of his driver's in not right, but they can't seem to stay apart. As they work through their relationship, they also feel like they have to hide it, so Micaela doesn't get dragged by the press. This plot line was also a good one, I'm not usually a fan of age gap romances, but honestly this one was well written and handled. Liam is written as a character who is desperate not the be a bad guy, he genuinely scares about Micaela and the way this could ruin her image. He is also conscious about using his power and checks in a lot to make sure this is what she wants. I find these things really big for an age gap plus boss/employee kind of romance.

Lastly you have Brent and Paola, Brent being Liam's son, who is having a hard time on the track this year. As he starts to woo Paola, his assistant, she is hesitant. She is supposed to make sure he is where he needs to be and organizing things for the team. Paola isn't sure she is ready to throw at all away from some feelings that could be fleeting. Overall, this is the one couple I don't see having a happy ever after, but now like a happy for now. Their plot mixed in well with the others, but I definitely found myself wanting to get back to the other stories more.

The way that the three plot lines are intertwined and how the characters interact was really fun. You get to see how they respond to the each other's drama while also being involved in the same world of F1 racing. This book is truly an 'open door' romance and I found those scenes were also written really well (though I wouldn't recommend starting this book on an airplane like I did). None of the scenes seem out of place in the story and on some occasions actually help the plot, which I find isn't common in spicy romance books.

One of my other favorite parts of this book was that we get every character's point of view at some point, which honestly helped a lot with understanding how everyone is feeling about what is going on. We get to see Luca, Ethan and Cece debate internally about being in a poly relationship, Micaela fight her feelings for Liam, and Liam try to figure out if any of this will actually work. I also enjoyed that all of the characters seem to understand their place within the story and work for what they want.

Overall, this book was definitely something new for me and I really liked it. I'm not sure anyone would expect me to talk this much about a spicy F1 romance, but here we are. There are a lot of spicy scenes, as mentioned before so the book is definitely a hot one. I liked the setting of F1 and switching locations, and also seeing the connection between all the characters.

I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars!

Faster comes out September 9, 2025!
