Online influencer, Elyse Myers, charms in this collection of autobiographical essays that prove sometimes your quirks are your greatest strengths.

I remember first coming across Myers' videos and feeling so very seen by her angle of awkwardness in everyday life. Bad dates, panic attacks, and everything in-between area all fair game in this relatable collection. Myers explores various ages of cringey, from her youth spending Seven Minutes in Heaven accidentally friend-zoning her crush through her new adulthood meeting her husband at a butcher’s counter in Australia, where she revealed herself to be an emotional runner. With impostor syndrome, body image, neurodiversity, and more at the heart of this work, Myers illustrates a life of making people feel loved and known and pays homage to the people who have reciprocated the same to her along the way.
Most of Myers' videos are short-form, and since this collection of essays feels episodic as well, it seems to be a great way to showcase the cringey moments in Elyse's life. Every chapter of this autobiography shines with comedic and therapeutic insight into her discomfort. I was laughing, I was cooing, and I was nodding along the whole time. This book is a fun read for anyone looking for validation alongside their chuckles.
