A lady must disguise herself as a count in order to receive her inheritance, but what happens when she attracts the attention of the princess herself?

I chose this graphic novel since many people at the bookstore had recommended it, and I needed to fill the space on my Pride Bingo board for graphic novel. This adorable YA read by Deya Muniz is the romantic comedy of my dairy-free dreams. I miss cheese... So much...
Anyway! Lady Camembert, Cam for short, is faced with a decision: get married to a man whom this lesbian will never fully be happy with, or live a life without her father's inheritance once he passes. In a desperate attempt to ensure neither of these paths happen, her father comes up with another idea on his deathbed: leave the city and her life behind and assume the identity of a man, his unknown son, in the capitol. While out attending a ball, Cam attracts the attentions of Princess Brie, and what starts out as friendship quickly grows into more. What is the princess to do when she realizes the truth of Count Camembert?
With fashion shows, late nights falling asleep on the couch, and so SO much pining, this romcom is CHEESY- in every iteration of the word. While Cam is adorable and every bit the frustrated teen dream, the side characters are when really make this book shine. From the overworked friend who keeps her mouth shut Zola (short for Gorgonzola) to the housekeeper/maidservant who is the only one to stay with Cam to take care of her in the capitol Feta, these quirky side characters are one a rollercoaster ride of emotions. They are also beautifully illustrated by Muniz. If you need some adorable, head empty fun, then this book is for you!
